k9 connection, a 501(c)(3) non-profit project of OPCC, educates, counsels and inspires high risk youth with the assistance of homeless shelter dogs. Each individual program serves counselor referred teens at participating schools, and concludes with a graduation ceremony and the placement of each dog in a permanent home. Our work then continues with monthly follow-up “check-ins” and student mentoring for all k9 connection graduates.
